Kris here. In the past few days I've been busy grading, bagging, and pricing up hundreds of old comics from the 50s and 60s, getting them into our computer system so they can be put out for sale and you too can marvel at the old westerns, romance, war, and funny animal books. These are all pretty inexpensive reading copies in very good or lesser shape but man are they ever fun to look thru. It was a different era that's for sure! Take these 2 ads for example...
These are back cover ads for multinational agricultural biotechnology corporation Monsanto touting new plastic toys. They don't make the toys...they just make the amazing new plastic the toys are made from and they are urging comic book reading kids to bug the crap out of their parents to race to the store to buy them. I wonder how many of these kids are now older adults with problems stemming from toxins in all those wonderful new plastics. In the age of innocence that was the 50's and 60's nothing could possibly be wrong with this amazing new plastics technology in the hands and mouths of kids. Sigh!
